Trophy Allowances: $300 for trophies for supported entry class competition (BOB, BOS, BOW, WD, WB, SD, SB) $50 in additional support for puppy sweepstakes (BISW, BOSW) $50 in additional support for veteran sweepstakes (BVSW, BOVSW)
All trophies must have NTCA or Norwich Terrier Club of America (engraved, embroidered, labeled, etc) on them and must be listed in the premium and catalog as "offered by the Norwich Terrier Club of America".
Additional Responsibilities of the SE Coordinator:
You must have at least verbal permission from the host club to hold a Supported Entry only (no sweepstakes).
For a Supported Entry with Sweepstakes you must have a permission letter from the host club to send in with your Show/Trial application. It must be received by AKC 18 weeks prior to show closing. (Keep a copy of the permission letter and AKC application for your records and send copies to NTCA Show Chair). (Keep a copy of the permission letter and AKC application).
You are responsible for providing premium list and catalog information to host club Show Chairman.
If Sweepstakes are offered, you must obtain a signed acceptance letter from the Sweepstakes Judge, acknowledging the AKC’s rule for judges. See sample letter below.
Ask if the host club offers a “per dog entered cash refund” for supported entry, if so have them send the refund check payable to NTCA to the NTCA Treasurer.
Rules Relating to NTCA Sweepstakes
The NTCA requires that the following Sweepstakes information appears in the Premium List and catalog of the show giving club:
All Norwich Terriers except Champions of Record shall be eligible for the Sweepstakes if they are 6 months of age but not more than 18 months of age on the day of the show. All dogs in the Sweepstakes must be entered in a Regular Class and entries must be made at the same time that Regular Class entries are made as an “Additional Class” on the same entry blank, with the age division specified. Sweepstakes entries may be shown only by their owner(s), breeder(s), or an immediate family member of the owner or breeder, or an amateur. Professional handlers, members of their families, their employees, or their assistants may not show a dog in the Sweepstakes, unless such person is the owner or breeder of the dog.
Sample NTCA Sweepstakes Judge acceptance letter:
“The AKC requires that if you accept this judging assignment you must agree to the following regulations: Neither you nor any person residing in the same household with you shall exhibit or act as an agent or handler in the regular competition (and/ or sweepstakes) at this show. Dogs owned wholly or in part by such judge or any member of his/her household shall be ineligible to be entered in the regular competition of the show.”
